Selling to Russians News: What Russian buyers worry about
April 12, 2017

Hi Everyone,

What Russian buyers worry about

Often Russian real estate portals, online magazines and forums publish articles, life stories and questions-answers on the rather broad topic of difficulties and worries of the Russian buyers of international properties in various countries.

I've tried to summarize quite a lot of them, and here we are with the major problems that worry the Russian buyers of the foreign for them real estate, and apply to any country of the world where they are going to purchase properties:

Security

The Russians care a lot about their own security and also about their properties when they are away. If your property is gated, guarded, located in a safe area, and/or equipped with an alarm system, do not forget to mention it in your Russian description.

Possibility to rent out

Long gone the days when the Russians bought international properties for their own use only, now - with the ruble costing less compared to the dollar and euro - they want to make money by renting out. It will be to your advantage if your property can be rented out - long term or short term - with the profit, and you say so in your Russian description.

Maintenance fees, taxes and other expenses

Again, now the Russians have to pay more in rubles for keeping their international properties, that's why they care more about the costs of it than it was in the past. Even if you do not want to disclose the exact numbers in your property Russian description, get ready for such questions and comparison with other properties in your range.

Citizenship in your country for a foreigner that comes with purchasing your property

Some (not all) of the Russian buyers would be interested in acquiring a second passport, and if your country and property allow that, do not forget to mention it in your Russian description to attract more Russian buyers.

Thus you may see that there are some things to include in your real estate promotion to the Russian buyers to make your property more desirable.

If you are interested in your particular issues that worry the Russian buyers in your country and how to address them to become more appealing to the Russian buyers, just email me your question, and we'll see how to deal with it.

To your best business success,

Sincerely,
