Active Marketing of Real Estate Internationally
October 01, 2026

Hi Everyone,

Active Marketing of Real Estate Internationally

We define active international real estate marketing as the following:

“Active marketing of real estate for sale means that the seller does the international marketing himself for his own money, but at the end doesn’t pay any commission on sale.”

The best part of this process is “no commission to pay”, but you have to have some budget for advertising to let foreign buyers know about your property for sale. How much? Let’s assume that you will pay for foreign advertising more or less the same as you would in your own country - to make an evaluation, plus or minus, depending on countries.

Definitely, you want to spend less on ads while getting better results. Here are some general tips to make your advertising successful (we consider that you have already decided on a country to target for buyers for your property for sale).

- Language and culture. People always prefer to search the internet in their own language, thus if you don’t know the foreign language of your target, hire bilingual help - preferably someone who knows not only the language, but also the culture of the people over there and even better has some knowledge of real estate.

- Real estate portals. Search for popular real estate portals in the foreign language of your target country where all kinds of international properties are advertised, and look for similar listings to your property that you are going to sell there - this information will give you an idea of your competitors which is always useful.

- Other specialized websites if this is the case about your property for sale (you sell a hotel, then look for hoteliers forums, for instance; you sell a home on a golf course, go to where golfers are chatting, etc.).

- Prices. Check the price lists of the portals and sites for your advertising and see what fits your budget - usually the more visitors are on the portal the more expensive it is for advertisers. Don’t be too excited about free listings and free (automatic) translations - most of the time they don’t bring you much traffic and results, but try them too if you can.

I can help if you target Russian-speaking investors, as I know the language, culture, and real estate. Email me your needs.

To your best business success,

Sincerely,
