Advertising International Real Estate to Russian Buyers in 2024

Let's have a quick look at what kind of international properties and from which countries are being offered to the Russian buying market at the beginning of 2024 - a snapshot of one of the most visited Russian portals of international properties-for-sale - Prian (in Russian of course).

80 countries advertise properties-for-sale in Russian and here are the top 10 (in rounded numbers):

#1. Turkey - 20,000 ads of which 19,000 residential, the rest commercial and land

#2. Cyprus - 11,000 ads of which 10,000 residential

#3. Greece - 10,000 ads of which 6,500 residential, 3,000 lots of land

#4. Spain - 7,500 ads of which 7,000 residential

#5. Montenegro - 7,500 ads of which 6,000 residential

#6. UAE - 5,500 ads, almost all residential, only 100 commercial and land

#7. Bulgaria - 4,500 ads, almost all residential, 200 commercial and land

#8. Italy - 3,000 ads, almost all residential (of which 2,000 villas), 100 commercial

#9. Thailand - 3,000, all residential

#10. Finland - 2,500, almost all residential, 100 commercial and land

There are also countries with under 10 ads: some Caribbean islands, some Emirates, Brazil, South Africa and some other African countries, a bit of European countries too.

Now, a million-dollar question: What is better (more effective) - to advertise on a platform with plenty of properties-for-sale that are similar to yours, or to be sort of a standalone property somewhere else? In general, there is no fit-for-all answer, but in any particular case one or the other marketing decision might be more or less cost-effective.

By the way, have you seen different big-chain grocery stores facing each other across a street? Obviously, they both tend to the same population and consider the location as the most valuable for their customers, right?

Thus, for our goal of advertising properties-for-sale in the most effective way the same approach would be useful - go with your marketing money for your buyers where they are!
