In the previous newsletter, we defined the passive marketing of your property for sale internationally as the following:

“Passive marketing of real estate for sale means involving a realtor who will actually do the international marketing for you and then receive some predetermined commission on sale.”

The method is good for almost any seller:

- An owner of a property which is not really a mass market and might be described as having some attractive and desirable features.

- A realtor with many properties willing to enter a new foreign market.

- A developer with many units in a project willing to sell them faster.

The success of this “lazy” way - when someone is doing marketing for you - depends entirely on the right choice of the foreign realtor or realtors in the country that you have chosen to target. Actually, you look for a reliable business partner - and vice versa - they will look at you with the same eyes.

You have to interview foreign realtors in detail about their experience and results in marketing properties like yours to real estate investors in their country who are interested in purchasing properties in your own country.

A note: there are countries where realtors are exclusive, which means that if you signed a contract with one, you have no rights to work with another (the US, for instance) - be very careful with such contracts! Thus, always check upfront how realtors work in the chosen foreign country where you want to find buyers/investors for your property or properties for sale. Most of them won’t have this exclusivity problem, luckily for you (for example, Russia and Russian-speaking countries around it allow you to work with as many realtors simultaneously as you wish).
