Hi Everyone,
Nowadays everyone talks about choosing AI translation vs. Human translation. Both have their own pluses and minuses, and the truth is that the decision should be made based on the planned use of a particular text translation and its audience. While AI translation tools are highly praised for their speed and low or zero cost for many tasks, there are also some fields where AI can be sometimes more harmful than helpful: healthcare, law, finance, highly technical texts and MARKETING first of all come to mind. Errors in such texts might be way too expensive or even dangerous - you can find lots of such cases online if interested. Today let’s talk about translating REAL ESTATE MARKETING texts for foreign buyers. AI Translation: as we have already established here and in the previous newsletter, the results might be doubtful or erroneous. Human General Translation: might be good, mediocre or bad depending on the choice of the translator and his experience with marketing texts in real estate industry. Specialized Translation: if you choose a translator with knowledge and expertise in real estate in both the source and target languages, you can’t get wrong most of time. The translator’s taste in marketing texts especially would be a wonderful bonus. Descriptions of properties for sale or rent are usually rather short and translating them into a foreign language of your potential buyers or renters would comprise just a small portion of the overall marketing expenses, but the impact of a great headline and body of your ad or listing in the foreign language is your real road to success in the chosen foreign market.
