Where Russian Buyers Purchase Real Estate Now?
January 03, 2023

Hi Everyone,

Where Russian Buyers Purchase Real Estate Now?

Russian Forbes and other sources (real estate portals, agencies and analytics) all agree on the following:

- In the last 6 months of 2022 there are more potential Russian buyers for international real estate in comparison with the last year

- The most popular countries for the Russian buyers are Turkey, UAE and Thailand (attractions: warm sea resorts, relative easiness of getting a residency permit, no specific problems for financial transactions with Russia, and large Russian communities with no problems with border crossing). In these countries the Russians are steady on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd place by numbers among all foreign investors in 2022, but there are other destinations in demand from the Russian buyers as well

- Europe for the most part is not available to the citizens of Russia due to sanctions, but still in demand as always

- Russians with a second passport are not limited to do business in Europe, that's why those countries with no sanctions and rather easy rules for getting citizenship for foreign investors (like some Caribbean islands) are seeing the growing demand from the Russians

- In general, the countries with no sanctions and thus no barriers for financial transactions with Russia are of interest for the Russian investors in international real estate

In the October - December 2022 issues of this newsletter we have already discussed the Case Studies for the most popular among the Russian buyers countries of Turkey, UAE and Thailand as mentioned above.

If interested, you can see them again, and you can share a link to the free subscription page with your co-workers and friends who might be interested in selling properties internationally:

In the future I'll try to gather more information on some other countries where the Russian buyers go now to invest internationally in real estate. While some countries are not open, some others are getting more attention instead.

You know the famous saying: "When one door closes, another opens"? There's the same saying in Russian, and it definitely applies to various options for investors. Check out your own country's policies - maybe your door is open for more buyers for your properties? Feel free to ask for my help in researching the Russian buyers for your destination if needed.

To your best business success,

Sincerely,
