Who can sell real estate internationally during the pandemic
October 01, 2021

Hi Everyone,

Who can sell real estate internationally during the pandemic

It's obvious that in today's covid world with all the restrictions, border closures, etc., international real estate sales are down. But for how much? And are there still international buyers around?

I've done a quick research of the big Russian real estate companies' published data for 2020 and the first part of 2021. Here are their results on international real estate sales for the Russian buyers in English for you.

Most Russian realtors agree that international real estate sales are approximately 30% down during the pandemic... At the same time the demand for some countries and types of properties from the Russian buyers is even higher during the pandemic. Let's see:

- Is your country among many that allow to finalize a property sale online? Great. Find an experienced in international transactions real estate lawyer (or notary? depends on your country's rules of selling-buying properties) in your area who will be ready to help your potential buyer with closing the deal AND say so in your property description. It will push you on top of other sellers as the one who cares about international buyers' comfort in the process!

- Is your country among those that give some preferences to international real estate buyers? (citizenship, right of living, maybe something else - like attracting foreign retirees and making their life nicer and easier, etc.) Great. Find an experienced immigration lawyer (or consultant?) in your area who will be ready to help your potential buyer with all the required paperwork AND say so in your property description. Many Russian buyers are looking for easier ways of crossing borders nowadays - more than ever before!

- Is your property for sale a rental? Great. Find a potential local property manager who will be ready to run the rental for your future buyer AND say so in your property description. Many Russian buyers prefer to invest in an international property suitable for a commercial use and managed by somebody local!

Life goes on and international real estate sales are still possible in spite of covid, for more success just try to adjust your property for sale description for your target international buyers - the Russian buyers are similar to others in many ways PLUS they will be happy to "pay" for a second passport for being able to cross borders easier by investing in real estate abroad.

To your best business success,

Sincerely,
