Selling to Russians News: Selling to Russians quicker and for more money
June 17, 2014

Hi Everyone,

Selling to Russians quicker and for more money

Russian internet portal Prian has just published 10 tips "How to successfully market your property for sale". To tell the truth, their tips are not different from what you can find in any real estate books and articles for property sellers, but because it comes from a Russian source you might find the following resume of the tips on selling to Russians in English useful.

1. Your ad or listing must be written in good target language (Russian for Russian-speaking public, English for English, etc) without spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes. If not sure that you can create such a text yourself, use professional help

2. For a home listing photo session and later for showings, make sure there are no things around that do not belong here, take space and make an impression of overcrowding. It also applies to your lot that should be clean, orderly and taken care of. Lots of light in the rooms, fresh flowers as decoration. Professional staging is helpful, especially for high profile properties

3. Use cute pets in your photos for creating warm feelings, but make sure that for expensive properties the pets should be of pure breed

4. Make a video presentation of your home. If you are able to, make it with an interesting plot like a short movie, if not, then just a tour around the home would bring you inquiries

5.Be creative. If you can, make your ad or listing "home for sale" is informative, but different from many others

6. Before any showing to a potential buyer, make sure your home smells nice (no tobacco, cat's toilet, strong odors, etc). Fresh baking, light smell of flowers

7. Serve baked goods, fruits and beverages during showings

8. This advice is not for everybody, but some buyers would prefer a home with a ghost (beware of scaring away some other buyers!)

9. Place some bird feeders around your home as bird singing is attractive and confirms that the area is ecologically clean

10. Write a history of previous owners and tenants of your home or at least the area if they were celebrities of some sort

Hope this will help you with selling to Russians. In the following issues of this newsletter Selling to Russians we'll talk in more details about some particular items from the list above.
